CEO SDG Impact Japan
Mari Kogiso is the CEO of SDG Impact Japan, which she founded in 2021 to promote social finance in Japan. Prior to SDG Impact Japan, she was the director of diversity and inclusion at the Fast Retailing. In this role, she also managed human rights committee and served as an advisor fo the Fast Retailing Foundation. Prior to the Fast Retailing, Mari was the Director of the Gender Innovation and Investment division of the Sasakawa Peace Foundation, where she led the establishment of the Asia Women Impact Fund, a US$100 million fund that catalyzed capital to improve the lives of women and remove gender barriers in Asia. Mari held various senior positions at the World Bank Group in Washington DC and Tokyo, including representative of MIGA Tokyo.
Currently, Mari serves as a Japan delegate to the W20 and as an expert advisor on women’s economic empowerment and gender investment to the WeEmpower, a joint project between the ILO, EU, and UN WOMEN. Mari holds a BA in Economics from Tokyo University and MA from the Fletcher School, Tufts University.
